“Development of the Rule of Law and Access to Justice: Cornerstones of Democracy”
Legal Aid of East Tennessee will celebrate the kick-off of our annual campaign by offering a free virtual CLE presented by our Director of Litigation and Advocacy, Russell Fowler.
This fast-paced course will survey the historical development of the interdependent concepts of “the Rule of Law” and “Access to Justice” and how these ideals have come to be indispensable cornerstones of democracy and our legal system in America and Tennessee. In our “LAET Time Machine,” we will travel from medieval England to today’s Tennessee and witness the origins of the common law and Magna Carta and other key historical events on the long, surprising, and continual journey toward “Justice for All.”
